Macwheel Electric Scooter Review

We are going to take a look at the MX1, cover the features and talk about why you might want to consider this as your next scooter if you are considering one for this spring or summer season. Let’s get right into it.

Powerful 350-Watt Motor

First, let’s talk about the motor. It features a powerful 350W hub motor the propels the MX1. It’s going to give you a fantastic range, which is about 18.6 miles. It will vary slightly depending on your weight.

If you weigh around 210 pounds, you will average somewhere between 11 to 15 miles per hour. In my experience, you can easily get 16 miles an hour if you scoot on a flat surface.

The motor of the Macwheel is very quiet and silent. It’s one of the quietest motors I’ve seen on a budget electric scooter.

Max Speed

It has a maximum speed of 15.6 miles per hour. Depending on your weight, you can easily get 13 to 14 miles per hour if you ride it on flat terrain.

You can fold it up and lock it. This makes it easy to carry it around, and you can easily take this in your car, go out on a ride, and if you use this as a commuter, you can easily do that.

There is a cool feature in the folding process. When folder, all you have to do is release the clamp that’s holding the handle, and it is instantly ready for you to ride.

You can go from transportation mode to the riding mode in a matter of seconds. This is going to give you a lot of utility and all-out flexibility. The folding mechanism is better than a lot of similarly priced electric folding scooters.

The other feature that makes this scooter great is the tire. It’s a run-flat tire that means they will not puncture and lose air. That’s a fantastic feature because you will not be stranded anywhere.

Rubber inflatable tires are risky. They can get punctured and requires a lot of maintenance work. That’s why having a tire that is run-flat is great. The other thing that makes these tires unique is that they are not solid.

Buying new tubes will cost you money, and they require a lot of work to replace. That’s why I highly recommend going for a scooter that has tubeless tires.

As you are riding this scooter and you hit a pothole or any type of bumps and holes on the road, you are not going to feel it because they are not solid.

Since they have a foam-based tube, your ride experience will improve significantly as this scooter won’t bounce around a lot. It’s not going to as jarring and will give you a great ride.

Since they have an air tube instead of foam on the inside, you won’t have the need to replace the tube. At this price range, most other scooters feature an inner tube, and getting a flat tire on those electric bikes is common.

Disc Brakes

In addition to the run-flat tires, you will also get a nice braking system. It has a handlebar brake that will engage the rear disc brake. The front motor is also used to help you slow down.

When you apply the brakes, the rear light turns on and flash. Unlike a bike where you have a front and rear brake, you just have one brake handle that controls both.

Because it has an equal distribution of braking power, you will never tilt forward when you hit the brake.

It has a very bright Led light on the front that is easy to see at night. The back indicator is going to indicate that you are riding this pro scooter. Someone on a bike or someone walking behind you will easily be able to notice you passing by.

Safety Features

In addition to these safety lights, you also have a bell. It’s pretty much a bicycle bell. This surprises people because they don’t hear you coming because the scooter is quiet.

This is a kick-off scooter, and the way this works is that you need to kick twice and push the throttle as you kick the scooter to start it. Eventually, the motor will engage as you start to move and gradually speed up.

The deck is pretty darn high on this thing, and there is absolutely no suspension. Because you are going to be kicking off, the deck surface is flat and is more like a skateboard deck.
The flat surface is skid-proof and has a rubberized textured area that is easy to clean and also gives you nice traction.

Speed Modes

Sometimes, you need to have some control over your speed. You will get three speed modes, and each one will give you a different speed. One is the lowest, which is five mph, and three is the fastest.

Final Thoughts

With a maximum weight capacity of 256 pounds, this scooter can be the ideal transportation mode for a lot of commuters that are looking for a budget-friendly option.
With reliable build quality, powerful motor, and decent mileage, you won’t go wrong with this one. And that rounds up our Macwheel electric scooter review. I hope you found what you were looking for in this review.
